Cookie Policy

This website uses only what it needs to work. There is no advertising, profiling or third-party tracking here.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store. Related technologies, such as local storage, work similarly but keep the information in your browser rather than sending it back to the server with every request.

What we use

Everything listed below is strictly necessary: the site either cannot function without it, or it exists solely to honour a choice you have made. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, strictly necessary items do not require your consent, but we think you should be able to see them anyway.

Name Type Purpose Expires
PHPSESSID Cookie (first party) Identifies your browsing session so the enquiry form can be protected against cross-site request forgery, and so repeated automated submissions can be rate-limited. It holds no personal information itself. When you close your browser
arl_cookie_choice Local storage (first party) Remembers that you have seen and answered the cookie notice, so it is not shown to you on every page. Until you clear your browser storage

What we do not use

  • No advertising or retargeting cookies.
  • No analytics or audience measurement software.
  • No social media pixels, share widgets or embedded trackers.
  • No cross-site profiling, and no sale or sharing of browsing data.

The only external resource this site loads is the web font used for its typography, served by Google Fonts. Loading it means your browser makes a request to fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com, which discloses your IP address to that service. No cookie is set by it. If you would prefer to avoid this entirely, the fonts can be self-hosted — please let us know and we will treat it as a request worth acting on.

Managing cookies

You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings. Because the items above are strictly necessary, blocking them may stop the enquiry form from working, but the rest of the site will still be readable.

Changes

If we ever add a cookie that is not strictly necessary, we will ask for your consent before setting it, and this page will be updated first.
